Volkswagen’s adventurous allrounder

The new 2021 Passat Alltrack is back

Volkswagen’s adventurous allrounder’ - the new 2021 Passat Alltrack - is back after a three-year hiatus with some adventurous updates of its own.

This includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems that have your back, as well as the model moving exclusively to petrol for the first time utilising the 162 TSI engine – a 2.0L turbocharged, four-cylinder that generates 162kW

The power is seamlessly delivered to the road through Volkswagen's seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system, resulting in 7.9L/100km fuel efficiency. The 4MOTION technology ensures maximum grip and stability whether it is a drive up the coast or just down the road, and when used alongside Adaptive Chassis Control, the vehicle responds automatically to any environment.

Greg Leet, Volkswagen New Zealand’s General Manager of Passenger Vehicles, says they are delighted to have secured a limited run of this very popular vehicle for the New Zealand market.

“As SUVs dominate this segment, a number of our customers have been asking for the return of this very popular model as there’s not a lot of choice when it comes to quality AWD wagons, particularly at this price point. We listened and are thrilled to bring this car back to our line-up as we know it resonates well with the Kiwi lifestyle.”

The new Passat Alltrack driver assistance suite includes Travel Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitoring, as well as Side Assist (blind-spot monitoring) and Emergency Assist.

Additional equipment highlights include 19-inch Albertville alloys, Nappa leather upholstery with heated electric front seats, easy open/close tailgate, and wireless App-Connect.

The 2021 Alltrack also retains the wagon's impressive boot space - able to hold 639L with the back seats up and 1,769L when folded down – confirming its status as an easy and effortless tourer that will ferry you, your friends and family (and all of their stuff! ) in a comfortable and quiet manner. Exterior dimensions remain largely unchanged from the previous iteration of the Alltrack, stacking up at 4780mm long, 1853mm wide, 1530mm high and a wheelbase of 2788mm.
