An icon reimagined. Volkswagen presents the new Golf
This year the iconic Volkswagen Golf celebrates its 50th year anniversary with a renewed design and enhanced performance, representing the pinnacle of Volkswagen engineering. By combining modern tech with classic comfort, the vehicle that helped create countless happy memories for Kiwis, provides a new yet familiar driving experience for everyone.

Over the course of eight generations and with 37 million units sold worldwide, the Volkswagen Golf has always been a pioneer in terms of style, innovation and safety with several milestones throughout its history. This eighth-generation model features a range of enhanced powertrains and performance options, entertainment and navigation upgrades, along with some familiar touches to ensure your driving experience is enjoyable.
Built for ultimate driving pleasure, the new Golf is powered by a 4-cylinder inline turbo engine with maximum power of 110kW exclusive to the Life and R-Line, while the GTI has an impressive 195kW of power. The new slimmer LED headlights with automatic high beam accentuates the front of the vehicle along with a redesigned grille to complete the reimagined Golf look.
Peace of mind while driving is present in all three Golf variants with the 5-Star ANCAP Safety Rating. Advanced safety features include; Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Driver Alert System and Airbags positioned in the driver, front passenger, front centre, side, curtain and rear side areas of the car. The Side Assist with blind spot monitor is exclusive to the Golf Life, while the R-Line and GTI models feature Side Assist with blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and exit warning system providing that extra safety while on the road.
A new exterior design preserves the essence of the model’s 50 years of heritage while offering a stylish and fresh look that marks a new chapter for the Golf and remains the heart of the Volkswagen brand today. The R-Line and GTI vehicles feature exclusive body kits with unique exterior treatments, including specialised bumpers and sills, as well as new wheel designs that
highlight their refreshed styles. In addition, a range of new colours is available to choose from, including Anemone and Antarctic Blue, Grenadilla Black, Oryx White and Dolomite Silver.
The New Golf interior provides comfort for an enhanced driving experience with a Climatronic automatic air conditioning system in the Life and Climatronic 3-zone automatic air conditioning system in the R-Line and GTI models. The Life features the classic leather covered multifunction steering wheel with gearshift paddles for a bit of fun, while the R-Line and GTI boasts the sports version of the steering wheel.
Additionally, the new interior promises innovations such as a 10.4-inch colour touchscreen in the Life model and the 12.9-inch colour touchscreen in both the R-Line and GTI, ensuring your driving experience is always enjoyable. Wired and Wireless App-Connect with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link along with Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming is standard in all three Golf models.
