Volkswagen keys are tied into the security system for all our cars. This is why all keys need to be programmed to the vehicle’s Immobilizer system. Coding a replacement key for your vehicle requires specialized equipment available only to your Volkswagen dealer facilities as they are qualified to make remote control keys. We will need proof of ID and ownership of the vehicle, as for security, only the registered owner of the car can order a new key. Most of our engines require 95 or higher and some high-performance vehicle must use 98. As stipulated in the fuel flap. In the interests of both Power and Economy Volkswagen recommends always using the highest-octane fuel available. The owner’s manual will help to clarify this. It is the owner’s responsibility to use the correct fuel as per the manufacturer’s specs.

Volkswagen manufacturer's warranty is automatically transferred without cost if the ownership of the vehicle changes while the warranty is valid.
All Passenger vehicles fitted with a toothed belt valve train drive have a varied recommendation when it comes to toothed belt replacement intervals.
Please check with your authorised Volkswagen Service agent who can advise on the appropriate replacement interval.
Please note: the interval recommendation is applicable when the following conditions apply:
- the vehicle has been fully serviced in accordance with Volkswagen standards and at an authorised Volkswagen service agent.
- the vehicle has not been used outside of normal operating conditions which could influence a premature failure.
- if not otherwise stated it is recommended the belt and tensioner be renewed at 6 years regardless of mileage.
- water pump replacement at time of tooth belt repairs is also recommended if driven off the same belt.
All Commercial vehicles fitted with a toothed belt valve train drive have the following recommended replacement interval.
Commercial vehicles with the initial delivery date from October 1st, 2016 or greater it is recommended that the toothed belt be replaced every 6 years or 120,000km, whichever comes first.
Please note: the interval recommendation is applicable when the following conditions apply:
- the vehicle has been fully serviced in accordance with Volkswagen and at an authorised Volkswagen service agent.
- the vehicle has not been used outside of normal operating conditions which could influence a premature failure.
- water pump replacement at time of tooth belt repairs is also recommended if driven off the same belt.
All Grey Imports* fitted with a toothed belt valve train drive have the following recommended replacement interval.
It is recommended that Grey imported vehicles have the toothed belt replaced every 6 years or 120,000km whichever comes first

Servicing elsewhere does not automatically void the warranty. However servicing needs to be performed to Volkswagen standards including correct intervals using correct repair methods and genuine parts and correct lubricants. If a warranty defect occurs it may be declined if a connection can be made between the occurrence of the defect and improper servicing.
